Nora’s class put on another Christmas Program; this year featuring hand-decorated aprons with Rudolph for the little kids and wreaths for the big kids (the big kids like Nora!).

bilingual irony
Nora is supposed to be asleep right now. She’s exhausted. She’s in bed. She’s all snuggled up with her new bunny, her pillow, and the blanket Maryann made her. She’s not sleeping. She is, however, singing over and over the mixed up lyrics:
Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping?
Dormez-vous? Dormez-Vous?
Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping?
Dormez-vous? Dormez-Vous?
Ding Dang Dong
Ding Dang Dong
I keep calling back “no, you’re not/no, you’re not” but apparently audience participation is unwelcome in this performance.
$9.15
Nora cost us $9.15 last month with 3 separate 1 minute calls to directory assistance on 3 separate days.
On a related note, this morning she was talking on her play cell phone and told me Alan Doyle was on the line. I took the phone, had a brief conversation with him about the pitfalls of being a famous Canadian celtic folk rocker, and gave her back the phone. Apparently convinced that he really was on the line Nora started stroking and kissing the phone.
jen: you like Alan?
Nora: yes!
me: is Alan your boyfriend?
Nora: yes!
all three of us: *sigh*
music for fishies
I’ve been introducing Nora to different musical instruments lately to see if she’s interested in any of them. So far her keenest interest has been in the slide whistle that belonged to her granddad Hogarty and my tin whistles. Here are a couple of photos of her performing for the fish.
piano (but not pianisimo)
Nora loves pianos even when they *don’t* have big, pretty google eyes, giant chompers, and wildly unfortunate color and layout design flaws. Here’s Grandma giving her a lesson:
and, later, Nora rockin’ out on her own. Her Grandpa McGowan would have loved this… *sniff*
(many thanks to grandma and grandpa for sending us the pictures)
