Tonight Nora, Colin, and I went for a walk after dinner. About half a mile into our walk (Colin and I were walking, Nora was scootering), we came upon a pair of black cats. Initially, the cats were extremely excited to see us approach and both came *almost* close enough to be petted. Then Colin went out of his mind with joy and, well, I’ll let you listen. This audio starts about 4 minutes after we first encountered the cats.

Could there be a better time to film the baby than while he’s getting his diaper changed? Sure. But we don’t get to dictate when Colin feels like performing for the camera (which is almost never).
So he clearly says ‘apple’ and ‘ball’ and ‘yeah’, but he also signs “more” (at about the 26 second mark) to mean something like “okay, I gave that to you, now give it back”. He also clearly understands argument structure in sentences spoken to him, but this is less visible here.
Note that he doesn’t care to repeat words after me or Jen but he will very happily repeat them after Nora.
Then, of course, he has to have a big comedic finish.
