Nora can now read just about anything. More than that, one of her favorite activities is to curl up with a good book, tune out the world, and read it cover to cover. This particular apple fell so not far that it is actually leaning against the trunk of its tree.

Earlier today I found myself trying to explain to Aunt Colleen that Nora couldn’t possibly go swimming today because while, yes, it was indeed 72° it was a rather chilly 72°! Michigan seems like a dream to me now.
Yes, we continue to enjoy the lovely wintertime weather here in Houston. Here you see us all down at the park getting in a little cross-country skiing and sledding. We had to dart into the car a few times and run the motor –as much to make sure the car would still be able to get us home as
to warm up our imperiled limbs. Afterward we headed to Panera for hot cocoa.
We’ve noted the resemblance between Nora and Colin, but it goes deeper than mere looks — both eat their chocolate chip cookies so that the chocolate ends up all over their faces! To be fair, Colin didn’t really eat his (er. . .my) cookie, he just licked it. Not sure that an oatmeal walnut chocolate chip cookie is the ideal first solid food for the baby, though given his DNA it’s definitely within the realm of possibility.
