Nora Evelyn

I’ve said once or twice here before that sometimes Nora reminds me of our friend Jill. This turns out to be particularly true when she’s wearing Jill’s accessories or hair.

Nora’s been asking to go back to the hotel in Chicago (actually in Evanston) since we checked out. She was insanely jealous to learn that I spent this past week in a hotel in San Antonio, Texas. While in Evanston she befriended a maintenance man named Tom (who looked exactly like Mario from Super Mario Brothers). Tom gave her the box of 64 crayons and coloring book seen in picture 2 (and Nora thanked him by coloring a special picture for him). The second photo is also what Nora looks like when she’s completely and utterly exhausted but too dedicated to the idea of playing some more to contemplate sleep.

I needed to go to Chicago for a conference last weekend so we made it into a mini family vacation (actually, we made it into a family trip and Jill & Fred made it into a wonderful little vacation but there will be more about this later). Even given that some rude jerk who wasn’t paying attention crushed and lacerated Nora’s foot with his wheelie bag while she was sound asleep, she was a dream on the train (in both directions). She was sweet, playful, took naps, ate really well, entertained herself with books and ipod, etc. We’re very, very lucky parents.

Here is Nora’s last monthaversary post before turning 3. Three. She’s going to be THREE years old the end of this month.
