Nora of the Blue House

May 1st, 2010 by clunis

We used Elysium Painters, a local company, and absolutely could not be more pleased with the work. Cesar invented the color for us and he and his team worked their tails off to make our dilapidated-looking old house look practically new again. I feel like I snuck out of Greenfield Village with a house in my coat (only fair, really, since Greenfield Village took Robert Frost’s House from our street). Here’s Nora posing in front of her blue house.

The house looks great and Nora is adorable as always.

thanks! we’re exceedingly pleased with the quality of the paint job. It doesn’t look like a new house, of course, but it looks a lot like the good folks at Greenfield Village have been caring for it.

  3. Rob Says:

Did you already finish painting it by yourself? How many coats? That was fast!

  4. clunis Says:

I’m normally a big DIY guy, Rob, but I don’t paint the exterior of this house. We hired a company who has turned out to be pretty amazing. The blue is 1 coat with 1 coat of primer underneath it. The white trim took 3 coats. The black door got 2.

  5. Ryan Leigh Says:

    Nice! Is Nora pleased?

  6. clunis Says:

yeah, I think she is, Ryan Leigh. When it was first finished she said, “they make me a blue house.” *pause* “I want a purple one.” but I think she likes it.

What a transformation! This freshly painted house has a whole new personality and the color is very stylish. Thank you so much for the work and for sharing your positive experience. Let us know any time if you ever need any touching up or just want to say hi!

See you for the kitchen drywall repair soon. Happy spring,
