Nora Evelyn

Nora’s friend Salomé has asked “¿Nora está en la casa violeta?”. Her friends at school talk about her purple house. She introduces herself around the neighborhood as being from the purple house. The purple house is in desperate need of a new paintjob, though, and heartless parents that we are? We’re going to paint it a different color.

Any thoughts? I think it’s a little too green. What color would we paint the storm door??

I love these pictures. Nora dressed herself (references to Punky Brewster fully warranted), Kacie’s wearing a beautiful dress, Nora’s completely loving having Christine read to her, Kacie is being incredibly sweet and sharing her mom’s lap & attention, the light is perfect.

Nora’s new cousin, Briahna, had an official “welcome to Earth” ceremony a couple of weeks ago and most of our family was able to attend a brunch in her honor afterwards. (Note tiny nub of a pony tail in the last picture. Nora calls this a “silly tail”.

Nora’s Aunt Colleen bought her a fantastic tub of sidewalk chalk (half the fun is carrying it by the handle). She loves it. Our porch looks like Salvador Dali documented a crime scene, but she loves it.

Usually sleep takes Nora by surprise (legs in the air, book in her hand, singing a song) but on this occasion she clearly threw her arms up and surrendered.

Nora pestered us off and on for a few weeks to go to the doggie grocery store and get a doggie sticker. We suspected she meant this place, but our suspicions were confirmed when she saw the large, red sign approaching across the parking lot and yelled out “DOGGIE GROCERY STORE!”.

Red Robin: carnivores and herbivores haven’t dined alongside one another this happily since the late Cretaceous period.
