edamame

July 2nd, 2009 by clunis

I’m pretty sure this is the first time Nora’s successfully shelled her own edamame; it’s definitely the first time she’s done it sitting at the table sans high chair. The experiment was surprisingly successful but, as the video shows, she’s not quite ready to give up that high chair. Note: the cardboard box on the table is the box for this new camera in case we send it back. Pity I didn’t think to move that.

Really cute! That is pretty cool. When I eat edamame, we just cook them in the shell, then just use our teeth to force the beans out of the shell.

well, this is a little like that, yeah? I steam them in the shell and then we pry them out and eat them. Probably your fingers stay cleaner. :)

That’s adorable. Finn loved the video too! I think he was enamored by Nora’s cuteness. ;-)

p.s. I love how you say “goodbye sweetheart” as she toddles off the chair and on to the next thing to get into! ;-)

at restaurants when we can’t get a good booth to pin zara in, we *still* often put her in a high chair…. cos ya know, just cos you are 4 doesn’t mean you don’t want to stand up and dance on the chairs, meet other diners, etc. she will sit in a chair, but it is a lot more work with the entertainment, esp if she’s off in some way.

    And Edamame=YUM!
