still more work with mom

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

This is becoming a trend! Actually, this post is the intersection of two important threads here on rubberducky.org: Nora going to work with her mom and us feeding the baby crap.

which reminds me of a cute story I forgot to share here. The three of us were dining at a local establishment given to the serving of fresh-baked bread with bowls overflowing with scoops of butter (from a number 20 disher). A #20 disher happens to be exactly how we portion out the ice cream at Ruggles End so naturally Nora believed the untouched bowl of butter on the table to be freely available ice cream!!!!!!1!1 It was some time before Jen and I figured out why the baby seemed to be dying of joy and frustration overdose. We hid the butter and Nora was soon restored to her normal level of merely irrepressible joy (she tends to giggle and sing to herself). I probably could have told that better.

red dawn?

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Nora and Jen came upon these large picture posing cutout things while playing in the Michigan Union last week and, luckily, Auntie Carrots had her trusty* camera handy.

* trusty and vastly superior to ours.

Nora got to hang out in Jen’s office last week and took the opportunity to reorganize her business cards for her:

dressed to impress

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

You see the theory goes that you dress for the position you want and not the position you have. Nora apparently wants to be… what? A firefighting mime in Dorothy shoes? These red shoes are almost identical to a pair her Granny owns. Nora saw these shoes in the store the day after a visit to Granny’s, grabbed them, and would have none of this foolish “let’s put those back” nonsense. Here are some rare pictures of her at baby school:

hold the phone!

Here are some slightly older pictures of Nora playing with our quaint landline phone (that Hitler’s mustache booboo on her upper lip is almost completely healed now).

eating pierogi

Nora just loves potato and cheese pierogi. Someday she’ll have to attend the world-famous pierogi fest in Whiting, Indiana — birthplace of such notables as Grandma and Grandpa. :)
