I caught Nora trying on her mom’s sneakers on Friday morning. I’m totally impressed that she was trying to put them on the correct feet but, of course, even a broken clock is right twice a day. :)

Seriously, “Son of the Blacksmith”??? You’re not making that up?? Maybe like all little girls, she will LOVE horses….now I know it’s in her genes. Hurry & get well, Nora

Not making it up at all. ‘Mc’ (Mac) is basically ‘son of’ and ‘Gowan’ (Gabhann) is smith or blacksmith.

Yes, I read the picture comments. Didn’t know about them at first, but accidently found them last year. I also agree with Marge, the girl’s destined to be a horsey-o-phile. We know it skipped Mommy(every other generation), but Great Great Grandma Dolak’s Slovakian Horse raising + training will out.

Of course; wouldn’t miss them! My last name means “conformist”. It was originally “Rosinger” and my grandfather’s father in Hungary changed it to “Revesz” to be more Hungarian. My grandfather then changed “Revesz” to “Reeves” when he came to the US, to be more American.

Yep. I like the comments. Sometimes they are even better than the ones on XKCD

I feel somehow compelled to leave a comment about picture comments, almost like it was a subliminal message…! :)
