get on the zoo train

December 29th, 2008 by clunis

The plan was to pick out Nora’s Christmas present from us by taking her to our friends’ excellent toy store and letting her get any one thing she wanted. This is, of course, an absolutely terrible plan because (a) she wanted everything and (2) the thing she most wanted was the 5 foot tall teddy bear guarding the door.

Instead we got her a cool pop-together caterpillar thing (not shown) and this very cool zoo train. Of all the toys we track down the parts for and reassemble after she goes to bed every night this is our favorite.

I especially like the second picture. It looks like she is really concentrating hard.

Oh, this is such a neat toy! Our church’s nursery has one, as does my mom (for the kids, of course – who have enjoyed it!).

Thanks, Ryan Leigh. I’m glad to know the toy might have some staying power. She seems very fond. So far Jen and I are a little annoyed that the giraffe’s head and lowest slice can only ever be in the front. We both thought you should be able to mix and match the animal parts in any combination.

    We are both weird. :)
