the stanley cup

September 16th, 2008 by clunis

Nora’s Aunt Colleen and Uncle Brien came out to Ann Arbor because their friend Doug had (and I am not making this up) the Stanley Cup at his house.

I think perhaps you did not appreciate the full gravity of the preceding sentence.

Their friend Doug. Had the Stanley Cup at his house. Also? There was a buffet.

Here are some shots of Nora and her humble servant meeting the oldest trophy in professional sports.

So…. the friend Doug had the Stanley Cup at his house. It looks like he left it out on the front porch. Not a big sports fan here, but I hope the balloons mean that he was at least celebrating the unique opportunity, and perhaps allowing it to stay inside for the night :) Wishing for the cool and non-rainy weather it looks like you are getting. Hug Nora for me, and tell Jen hello!

Umm … just realized I missed the part about the buffet. Assuming that yes, there was a party. Still hoping it led to an invitation to come inside and sit a spell….
