california wrap-up

Here’s a hodge-podge of pictures to wrap-up our big first trip with the little bean. First, Nora and my lovely bride with the Pacific tide rolling-in behind them:

and a different view of her first step in the Pacific ocean.

It was a great trip with tons of firsts for Nora: airplane trip(s), hotel, beach, ocean, hike, big girl bath, swimming pool, timezone change (ouch), avocado, apple juice (didn’t like it), dance, trip to an historic ocean liner, diaper change on the deck of an historic ocean liner, visit with Irish relatives, and conference filled with adoring fans. :)

She was also awakened from a serene nap by a large acorn-like thing falling from a tree and hitting her squarely in the forehead. Might she be the next Sir Isaac Newton? He may have (co-)invented calculus; defined the law of gravity; laid out world-changing views of motion, color, and optics; operated the British economy, and tried to turn base metals into gold, but I’ll bet old Sir Isaac never experienced unspeakable joy trying to eat an inflated balloon.

She loved all the people lavishing attention upon her and is likely to go through attention withdrawal now that she’s home and stuck with just boring old mom & dad.

That beautiful animal posing up at the top of the hill is James’ dog sullivan. I’m sure D & D still think of him as their dog! They’ll learn soon enough. :)

Finally, here’s a blurry shot of Nora snoozing on the last leg of the plane trip home. It was an exhausting week for everyone involved but definitely a lot of fun.
