happiest baby on the planet

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Moments before this shot she was laughing, playing, and singing: sing, laugh, laugh, giggle, *deep breath*, SCREAM!

bum genius diaper psa

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

This post is a little weird, I know, as it has no pictures of the baby. I’ve put together a short slide show of Nora hamming it up for the camera yesterday morning, though. Anyone completely uninterested in diapers can go watch that instead. :)

crawlishness

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Nora’s pretty consistently getting her tummy off the ground when she assumes the crawling position. It’s only a matter of time now before she masters forward motion.

seven months of cute

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Seven months, five teeth, 15 lbs, 27.5 inches, approximately 1,260 diapers, 1,168 photos (by us), 128 blog posts, 277 blog comments, and I’m not sure how to measure cute. It’s probably not `lumens’, but it would need to be something like that. As of yesterday, Nora’s been womb-external for seven months. What you maybe can’t tell from this picture is that she’s recently started posing for cameras…

california wrap-up

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Here’s a hodge-podge of pictures to wrap-up our big first trip with the little bean. First, Nora and my lovely bride with the Pacific tide rolling-in behind them:

and a different view of her first step in the Pacific ocean.

dancing queen

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Here’s a picture of Nora dancing to “Dancing Queen”. Really. Apparently she loves ABBA (but who doesn’t?).

new cousin

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Nora, Jen, and I took the scenic route to visit Nora’s new second cousin (my first cousin, once removed) James. Here we see James and Nora holding hands (they really hit it off) while held by Jen and Deborah. Donagh (not pictured) is standing next to me and hopefully got some non-blurry photos with his much nicer camera.

simulated waves

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

Many thanks to Ryan Leigh for the assist on this photo (and for teaching us how to put on disposable diapers so they won’t leak). I think Nora preferred the real waves, but she is definitely happy not to have to deal with the sand. Sand makes Noras cry.

I went back to the ocean today

There is nothing I can say to improve on the picture Jen took this afternoon.

happy baby rides again!

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Oh what a difference a couple of good, long naps and a good night’s sleep will make! Nora literally woke up singing this morning and has been her normal, happy, independent self all day. Of course, it was four o’clock in the bloody morning when she woke up singing, but we’ll take it. :)

Here we see that her brilliant mood can not be diminished even when the ugliest sofa on the planet gets in a color clash fight with her favorite blanket.
