jacques (is not a monkey)

Actually, jacques is a peacock and he is also Nora’s new favorite toy. She’s spent several hours this week crinkling his tail feathers in her little hands, poking at his little mirror, staring at his face, gnawing on his beak, etc. Also, Jen and I like him a lot better now that we know he’s a peacock and not a giant bug ( we originally assumed he was a giant bug — I think it was the eyes ).
p.s. Normally I’d prefer to link to brain station toys, but they seem to be out of this particular toy.

Wow - she is getting so big! It’s so much fun when babies start playing with toys - interesting to see what their faves are. Maggie loved anything as long as it had a tag - because the tag was her favorite part. She’d search all over a toy just to find the tag. Trying to be clever, I bought her a taggie blanket. Like I said, trying…. She never really took to it. Fortunately, it’s a good size to be a doll blanket, if she ever gets interested in dolls….

what’s a taggie blanket? like a blanket with lots of pokey out bits?

Pretty much…. It’s a blanket with ribbon tags sewn all the way around. They also make taggie books, toys, and other stuff. Taggies were not always easy to find - at least around here. Many more stores carry them now, or you can go to http://www.taggies.com .
